Welcome to INEBRIA–PEACHD 2026.
On behalf of the International Network on Brief Interventions for Alcohol and Other Drugs (INEBRIA), I am pleased to welcome you to the 22nd Annual INEBRIA Conference, held in collaboration with the EU-funded PEACHD (Piloting European Action on Cancer Health Determinants) Project and Charles University, in Prague, Czech Republic, from 14–16 October 2026.
Titled “INEBRIA–PEACHD 2026: Brief interventions for inclusive health promotion – broadening the scope to alcohol and lifestyles”, this conference reflects an important evolution in INEBRIA’s work. Aligned with the WHO–EU BRIEF framework, the programme emphasises integrated approaches that address alcohol use alongside other interacting lifestyle and behavioural risk factors relevant to cancer and non-communicable disease prevention.
The conference places a strong focus on equity, implementation, and policy relevance. Particular attention will be given to disadvantaged and underserved populations, including people with low socioeconomic status, migrants, and displaced communities, and to the practical challenges of embedding brief interventions within real-world health and community systems.
By bringing together researchers, health professionals, community and public health practitioners, and policymakers, INEBRIA–PEACHD 2026 aims to strengthen the translation of evidence into action.
I warmly thank our partners, organising and scientific committees, and all contributors for their commitment to this collaboration. I look forward to welcoming you to Prague for what promises to be an engaging, inclusive, and impactful conference.

Welcome from PEACHD
Dear Colleagues and Friends,
It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the INEBRIA–PEACHD 2026 Conference in beautiful Prague.
The PEACHD Project (Piloting European Action on Cancer Health Determinants – peachd4health.eu ) is honoured to co-produce this event and to celebrate its culmination with our final dissemination conference. PEACHD is an EU-funded Action Grant dedicated to advancing primary cancer prevention by addressing key lifestyle risk factors and reducing health inequalities across Europe — with special attention to people living with lower socioeconomic status, migrants and those displaced by conflict.
Throughout the project, we have worked collaboratively with partners from multiple countries to develop tailored strategies for health-promoting multi-factor screening and brief interventions, grounded in the WHO–EU BRIEF approach. Our pilots in the Czech Republic, Poland and Spain are assessing the potential of participatory, context-sensitive prevention practice, using flexible SBI techniques, and this conference brings together our learnings and experience with the expertise of the INEBRIA community.
We thank all participants and speakers in advance for your commitment to evidence-informed practice, innovation and cross-sector collaboration. We hope this conference will inspire new synergies and further progress in health promotion, prevention of cancer and other NCDs, and community-engaged public health.
Welcome to Prague and to what promises to be a rich and rewarding exchange!
Warm regards,
On behalf of the PEACHD Consortium Partners
